Karnataka Arm Sports Association
Our Disciplines
Arm Sports at KASA is contested across three official disciplines, each governed by Armsports Federation of India rules.
Discipline 01
Arm Fighting
The classic Arm Sport bout. Two competitors face each other with bent elbows placed on a table, hands firmly gripped, and attempt to force the opponent’s hand down to the touch pad.
Arm Fighting is contested in Sit-Down format (for the Physically Challenged category) and Stand-Up format for all other categories, on tables and pegs built to official Armsports Federation of India specifications.
Competitors must keep their elbow on the elbow pad throughout the bout; leaving the pad, a false start, or breaking grip to escape a pin can result in a foul or loss.
Discipline 02
Arm Pushing
Arm Pushing is contested on a dedicated marked court rather than a table — competitors grip forearms and drive to push their opponent’s arm back across the court’s center line.
The event is run to Armsports Federation of India court specifications, with officials marking out the court and center line before every bout.
Like Arm Fighting, Arm Pushing is contested across the Children, Youth, Senior, Masters and Grand Masters age categories, in both Men’s and Women’s divisions.
Discipline 03
Arm Pulling
Arm Pulling is the pulling counterpart to Arm Pushing — contested on the same marked court, with competitors working to pull their opponent’s arm across the center line.
Both Arm Pushing and Arm Pulling were introduced to widen Armsports beyond the traditional table bout, and are increasingly featured at state and national selection events.
All three KASA disciplines — Arm Fighting, Arm Pushing and Arm Pulling — share the same weight-class and age-category structure. See our Events & Rules page for the full category tables.
