The Sport
About Arm Sport
Arm Sport is a contest between two opponents facing each other with their bent elbows placed on a table and hands firmly gripped, then attempting to force the opponent’s hand down to the table top. In its early years the sport went by many names — “arm turning”, “arm twisting”, “arm wrestling”, “Indian arm wrestling”, “wrist wrestling” — before settling on the name used by Federations worldwide today: Armsports.
Technique and overall arm strength are the two greatest contributing factors to success, though arm length, muscle mass, grip size, wrist endurance and reaction time all play a part. Bouts are divided by weight class and by left-hand / right-hand divisions, with strict rules governing fouls such as the elbow leaving the pad, false starts, and breaking grip to escape a pin.

About Karnataka Arm Sports Association
There’s no doubt Arm Wrestling has gone on in some form or another for thousands of years and is popular across the world. A test of strength of one person’s arm against another, it consists of two people who sit or stand at a table, grip each other’s hand, and place their elbows on the table.
However, the exposure of the professional game has been lagging across the country, and especially in the state. Karnataka Arm Sports Association was formed under the guidance of Mr. Bimal Kumar Chanda, international Arm Sport player and President of the Indian Armsport Federation, with the idea of promoting the game of Arm Sporting professionally and creating career opportunities among the youth of Karnataka.
KASA is proudly affiliated to the Armsports Federation of India and FIT India.
